EcoAction Arlington’s 40th anniversary EcoExtravaganza celebration took place Friday, October 19, at the Arlington Arts Center. The event was a “festive evening in honor of the 40th anniversary of Arlingtonians for a Clean Environment, from its grassroots beginnings to its EcoAction Arlington future,” as stated on the official website.
Andy Shallal, founder and CEO of Busboys and Poets, delivered the welcoming remarks and the event overall was able to raise $14,000 which the organization says will go directly to their work planting trees, improving energy efficiency for low-income families and keeping waterways free of plastic pollution. The proceeds from this event also go toward launching their new online Sustainable Choices Resource Center.
