The first phase of the 1.1MM square foot Liberty Center North mixed-use development, One Liberty Center was the original driving force behind today’s entire 2.3MM square foot Liberty Center mixed-use development.  During the planning/construction phases of this project, the tragic attacks of 9/11/01, as well as the Base Closure Realignment Commission (BRAC), shook the Arlington County real estate market.  One Liberty Center serves as a testament to the capabilities and mission of TSC, working with Arlington County, the GSA, DoD and of course the Office of Naval Research to deliver their new headquarters on the existing site, eliminating GSA costs for swing space.  TSC ultimately developed a plan to construct a new, start-of-the-art building that would meet the newly required Anti-Terrorism-Force-Protection security standards, and today One Liberty Center remains one of the most secure urban office buildings in the County.  The original lease was since extended in the fall of 2012.
