If you’re new to Arlington, VA, or just visiting, it’s sometimes hard to figure out what the best things to do in the area are. Luckily, there are plenty of resources out there which lay it out for you. With more people out due to the weather changing, we thought it would be nice to take a look at one of the most popular travel sites: TripAdvisor. If you have never used this site, you may want to try it out. Why? Unlike some other travel/things to do sites, a large majority of TripAdvisor’s content is user-generated. So, instead of professional reviews or those from businesses trying to sell their products, you can read what everyday people enjoy – and Arlington is no exception. The great thing about the site is that even if you have lived in the area for quite some time, you can still find some new things to do.

According to TripAdvisor’s website, there are currently 62 items listed under Things to Do in Arlington, all with helpful reviews. The first items on the list are geared more for those visiting the area, with landmarks and “must-see” memorials:

3. U.S. Marine Corps War Memorial
4. Pentagon Memorial
5. John F. Kennedy Grave Site
6. Arlington House – The Robert E. Lee Memorial
7. Air Force Memorial

10. Theodore Roosevelt Island Park

Going deeper into the list, however, reveals more options for those new to the area or just looking for something different:

What’s even more useful is that by clicking on many of these items, a subcategory opens that lists all of the options. For example, click on Bars & Clubs and you will see 17 different options. Click on Specialty & Gift Shops and you will see the top 5.
