Arlington Thrive Event: BBQ, Boots & Bingo

At The Shooshan Company, we like to help promote the Arlington area as well as upcoming events. In less than two weeks on Saturday, September 24, Arlington Thrive will host their BBQ, Boots & Bingo family picnic event at Columbus Club of Arlington. If you are not familiar with Arlington Thrive, they are a local non-profit that delivers same-day emergency funds to Arlington neighbors in crisis. The goal is for Arlingtonians “to be secure in their jobs, health, and homes and thrive in a caring community.” On their website, Thrive mentions working with the following organizations as their partners:

Arlington County Department of Human Services
Arlington Partnership for Affordable Housing (APAH)
Arlington Street People’s Assistance Network (A-SPAN)
Bridges to Independence (B2i ) Sullivan House
Doorways for Women and Children,
Northern Virginia Family Services
Offender Aid and Restoration (OAR)
Phoenix House
Virginia Hospital Center
Volunteers of American Resident Program Center

All proceeds from ticket sales will go to Arlington Thrive to support their mission of providing emergency funds for neighbors in need.

The event includes many activities such as:

A family picnic
Bingo games
Wall climbing
Moon bounces
Ice cream
Live performances
Music
A fire truck
Face painting
