About Ballston BID and the BallstonConnect Podcast:

As stated on their website, ballstonbid.com, “The Ballston Business Improvement District, or BID, is a 25-block area within the Ballston neighborhood comprised of both commercial and residential properties. The BID is funded by a special tax paid by commercial property owners within our set boundaries. That tax makes up the Ballston BID budget, and funds various projects to maintain Ballston as an ideal destination to live, work, shop, learn and play.”

Their vision “is to create a world-class urban neighborhood that fosters a strong sense of community.”

The values of the BID are:

  • Build partnerships
  • Evoke Emotion
  • Give back
  • Be transparent
  • Do amazing work
  • Foster relationship
  • Innovate

One of the many tools they use is their monthly podcast. Launched in February 2018, CEO Tina Leone hosts the “BallstonConnect Podcast” monthly, which focuses on the hyper-local with each episode featuring interviews with “Arlington’s brightest personalities.”
